Vincenc Beneš, a former member of the famous Osma group, was an excellent landscape painter.
He drew on local and European traditions and was influenced by Paul Cézanne,
whose work he admired. After a short cubist period, he continued
his beginnings and came to a distinctive, expressive and distinctively
colourful expression.
He developed a keen sense of rich colour palette and luminous transformations.

long life, he was inspired not only by Czech, but also by French and
Mediterranean landscapes. An important part of his work are also still lifes with
various types of flowers. His expression is lively and relaxed, the colour palette
is sensitively graded.
