Eduard Kasparides came from a large artistic family of painters and dyers active between Čáslav and Moravská Třebová since the first half of the 19th century. The most prominent of the Kasparides family, Eduard is sometimes referred to as Moravian Schikaneder. At first he painted portraits and genres similar to and from the end of the 1990s he began to devote himself to landscapes elegiac style, where the landscape is a mirror of the artist's troubled soul. A beautiful painting with a reflection on the water comes from shortly after 1900 and is distinguished by its exceptionally refined colouring and balanced composition, evoking the Art Nouveau tapestries of the Schlattauer period. of the apart design bears comparison even with the large canvases from the interiors of the castle in Lysice, which are among the artist's reference paintings. The artist's self-portrait is owned by the Moravian Museum, but the vast majority of his works are in Austrian public and private collections.
