Jiří John was a painter, but graphics were a strong and compelling component of of his work. He was distinguished by an extremely pure artistic view, based on from his understanding of the evolution of nature and his ability to arrange the elements into a harmonious composition. The dry needle suited him because of its fragility and delicacy.
