The original tiles from the 1970s were originally designed for lining of the A line metro stations by the chief architect of the Prague metro Jaroslav Otruba. The colours were designed by graphic designer Jiří Rathouský. The alternation of hollow and convex panels was intended to fragment the sound waves.
