KORUBLA zoomorphic mask

Ivory Coast, Senufo, 2nd half of 20th century, wooden mask with buffalo horn, height 58 cm, Dancer in the mask is accompanied by a group of young unmasked males who shoving hunting scenes. The mask is a simplified version of "koruba" mask which represents a male principle.
