Mask

Nigery, Ibidio, 2nd half of 20th century, wood, height 20 cm, diam. 33 cm, There are two human faces portrayed on the mask which bear certain similarities with traditional mask manufactured in southern parts of Nigeria by Ibibio etnic groop. Dancers were wearing these maskd during the abubon ceremonied. Motives on the side parts of the mask represent the relationship of Big Mother with Moon.
