Painting and graphic work of Eduard Ovčáček belongs to the area of Lettrist art focused on on the phenomenon of writing. Since the beginning of the sixties 1960s, when Ovčáček went through a short period of of structural prints of informal character, he discovered the myriad possibilities of working with pictorial representation of individual graphemes, characters and pictograms, which have since become his central theme. Especially unique was Ovčáček's technique of burnt collage or relief, with which he placed himself in the context of of post-war international objective tendencies, in which natural processes, including fire.
