J. Jankovič (*1937) is one of the key figures of Slovak post-war sculpture. An all-round sculptor as well as painter and graphic artist, he absorbed inspiration by pop art, new realism and new figuration in his work. Since the 1960s he has been successful on the international scene where he has received many awards. In 1970 and 1995 he represented Slovakia, for example, at the Venice Biennial.
