E. Dieckmann was one of the most important furniture designers of the so-called Bauhaus school. A graduate from this school, he later led the joinery studio there. Dieckmann is known largely for his wooden furniture designs, where he strived for standardization and normalization. His works are characterized by strict geometry. Lit.: B. Polsterer – V.
